    Dear Senator,

I am writing to urge you to remember the children of our state as you rise above partisan politics and pass S.1738 The PROTECT Our Children Act without changes or amendments.  There is no possible justification for allowing over 600.000 peddlers of child pornography to victimize children in perpetuity via the world wide web.  There are currently fewer than 2500 trained officers nationwide capable of identifying the worst of the worst offenders and interdicting these crimes before they escalate to abduction and/or murder.

S.1738 will authorize significant increases in the funding for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces as well as provide for additional forensic labs and additional dedicated agents in the FBI’s Innocent Images division.  Utilizing the latest undercover software these agencies have a 96% felony conviction rate without a single child victim having to take the witness stand.  In one out of three of these arrests there is evidence that may lead to the rescue of a child victim.  What political principle could outweigh the urgency of rescuing tens of thousands of children from sexual assault and exploitation?

In solidarity with the Surviving Parents Coalition we ask Congress to ensure that not one more child suffers as theirs did.  Pass and appropriate the funding to PROTECT Our Children, S.1738. I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

    Regards,

    [YOUR NAME]
